“gentiles” – ethnics, people groups The label Jews gave to everyone not a Jew.

“circumcision” – the outward sign of the covenant God made with Abraham. “in the flesh made by hands” The ritual was performed by human hands, a physical ritual.

God intended Israel to be a light unto the Gentiles – Isaiah 42:6. God forbade Israel from assimilating existing cultures of those around them – Deuteronomy 7:1-6.

To be apart from Christ is a to be in complete and total disconnect from all that God is, all that God does and all that God promises.

The Jesus who is the Christ. The Jesus who is the only begotten Son of God. The one and only Christ.
