Building and Connecting Communities Through Special Initiatives Hunger and Food Security (Primary Funding Partners: Triad Foundation & Community Donors) Youth Outreach Program provides short term resources to cover food and personal care necessities to all Tompkins County young people in Housing Scholarship Program age 16 to 25 who are homeless or transient, lacking a fixed, stable place in which to live. Program Partners: The Learning Web, Family and Childrens Service of Ithaca, Tompkins County Department of Social Services

Building and Connecting Communities Through Special Initiatives Hunger and Food Security Ithaca Community Harvest Project provides access to local organic produce to youth and families through school, home, recreational, cultural, curriculum and meal programs. Program Partners: The Village at Ithaca, Local Farms, Beverly J Martin School, GIAC, Southside Community Center, Garden Gate Delivery, Ithaca City School District, and Greenstar Cooperative Market

Building and Connecting Communities Through Special Initiatives Hunger and Food Security Congregate Meals and Food Pantry Support provides financial support, food, and personal care items to local food pantries and congregate meal sites. Program Partners: Greater Ithaca Activities Center, Southside Community Center, Area Food Pantries, Loaves and Fishes of Tompkins County Other Supporting Partners: Wegmans Markets, Ithaca Bakery/Collegetown Bagels and Tops Friendly Markets

Building and Connecting Communities Through Special Initiatives Affordable Health Care (Primary Funding Partners: Brooks Family Foundation and Community Donors) Urgent Rx Prescription Program provides uninsured patients with vouchers for prescription medicine. Program Partners: Cayuga Medical Center, Kinney Drugs, Ithaca Wegmans, Palmer Pharmacy, Ithaca Free Clinic, and the Health Planning Council – this is a program of the Human Service Coalition

Building and Connecting Communities Through Special Initiatives Student Engagement Focus On Community Understanding Service (FOCUS) – Elementary and Middle School Leadership and Grant Program (currently $3,000 annually), primary funding source is the Park Foundation Youth and Philanthropy (YAP) – High School Leadership and Grant Program (currently $25,000), primary funding source is the Park Foundation Ithaca College United Way Stone Soup Philanthropy Corps – Student Leadership, Resource Development and Fund Distribution Program, started in the 2008 fall semester. Grant Funds available in 2010 total $4,000

Building and Connecting Communities Through Special Initiatives Student Engagement: Cornell University – Building and Connecting Communities Stephen E. Garner Summers of Service – Paid High School Internship Program (5 high school students in 2011 each received $1,500 internships), funded by the Cornell University Student United Way Campaign with additional support from Triad Foundation, Tompkins Trust Company, M&T Bank, and Community Donors.
