Pop Out Photo Effect Gimp tutorial

Let’s Start Find a picture to use Anything works, however, people and animals work best Create new layer, keep all settings Rectangle tool Select area, but make sure part of your main subject is left out of the box! Fill the selection with white Go to Select>Shrink Choose around 20 pixels (this will serve as the picture border, so you may have to adjust this number)

Next Edit>clear Deselect Now, choose the rectangle tool again, and draw out the entire frame Again Choose the Perspective Tool Depending on the picture, create perspective, making sure part of your image is on the outside of the frame This becomes a floating layer, so click the Anchor tool (the button next to the trash can) For now, turn down the opacity to around 60

More….. Get the Eraser and erase part of the border the crosses over the actual image Put the opacity back at 100% Merge down the layer Use the Scissor tool and cut out the frame and the part of the image outside of the frame (include any shadows your image may have) Select>Invert Edit>Cut Deselect

Last Steps Get a New layer, keep all settings Put this new layer below the previous layer Choose the gradient blend tool Choose a blend Draw corner to corner Select the top layer Merge down THE END!!!!
