CEO Report with Tom Holland Areas of Strategic Focus Accreditation Research

Group Work – Strategic Focus Area 1: Accreditation What is ACA’s current accreditation “brand” What will our “brand” look like in two years? The Task force initially asked camps to do something different each year: Some sort of professional development Complete a report Have a visitor Additional professional development Was going to be a night mare to track NSC pulled together 4 work groups: Annual accreditation report Recruitment and retention of visitors Training of Visitors Working with non-traditional audiences Much was learned from these four groups

Group Work – Strategic Focus Area 2 – Research Working from input from the Leadership Summit – Forced choice process

Narrow choices to top three Research Areas -Positive impact of camp -Positive impact of camp with various audiences including special needs -Additional outcomes tools development -Evidence that camp experiences improves academic performance -Evidence that attending and /or working at camp improves career readiness -Evidence of the life skills mastered through camp experiences -Economic impact studies -Evidence that camp experiences improves success in college including years of college completed
