Instructions for group work This template is designed to help you develop an action plan for WASH FIT The presentation should last no more than 10 minutes Do not spend too much telling others what the current situation is, focus on what is going to be done Use the Action Planning template (word doc.) which accompanies this module to help you This can be used at the national or district level, and adapted as needed.

Current situation Problem statement concerning situation of WASH in health care facilities Summary of existing (or in development) policies/strategies/initiatives that address WASH in HCF (if any) in the country/district/region

Embedding WASH with other initiatives How will WASH be embedded within other health initiatives (e.g. quality of care, health systems, maternal and child health, infection prevention control) Will WASH FIT be linked an with accreditation scheme?

How will WASH FIT be rolled out Will it be implemented at district and/or national level? Which facility/facilities? Is any additional training needed? If so, who needs to be trained? Who will lead the training? When? Remember to start small and build up, e.g. test in one pilot facility/district to begin with

Monitoring and Evaluation Proposed monitoring and evaluation of WASH FIT, including who will be responsible Will monitoring visits be carried out? If so when, how often and who will do them? How much will the visits cost?

Financing A proposed strategy for financing WASH services, including budgets for operation and maintenance If more money is needed, where will it come from? Who is responsible for drafting a funding proposal? When will the proposal be written/submitted? How much money is needed?

Next steps Provide a list of clear, concrete activities to follow up from the meeting, including when the activities will be completed and by who
