Residential to Robinwood 2017 Wednesday 26th – Friday 28th April

The staff attending! Miss While Mrs Porter Mrs Lomas Mr Lister

What will the children be doing? The programme is designed to compliment the geography curriculum. The programme meets the requirements for PE in that there are outdoor adventurous activities. The programme also encourages team work, develops thinking skills and promotes independence. The itinerary is weather dependent and is determined by the centre.

A typical programme… Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 9.30 Leave school at the latest 11.00 Arrival Lunch Giant swing Raft building Crate challenge Evening meal Trapeze Quest Hot chocolate and review Breakfast Zip wire Canoeing Archery Nightline Piranha Pool Caving Team challenge Dungeon of Doom Climbing Obstacle course Depart and return to school for 3:30pm

Mobile Phones/Electronic devices Mobile phone signal is poor near the centre and mobile phones are not allowed on the visit. If there is a problem we will contact you – no news is good news! If signal allows we will aim to post updates on Facebook. PLEASE NOTE: NO electronic devices will be allowed on the visit including Ipads/tablets or any type of cameras.

On the morning of the residential… Children should arrive at the school through the main entrance with their belongings at 9:00 am ready for registration. The children will leave their belongings in the hall and proceed to the classroom. Parents are welcome to wait in the hall, ready to wave them off! We will leave school at 9.30 am, earlier if possible. If your child requires medication or has a medical condition you need to make us aware of this. All medicines should be labelled with the child’s name and dosage. All medicines should be given to Mrs Jackson on the morning of departure. Children who are travelsick and need tablets should be given them prior to departure and a dosage given to Mrs Jackson for the return journey.

What to pack… Robinwood provide each child with a waterproof coat and waterproof trousers if the weather conditions are poor and any other specialist equipment. If your child has walking boots they may bring these but PLEASE do not buy any equipment especially for the trip. Clothes should be warm and comfortable and suitable for getting muddy – Please see suggested list provided. Health and Safety No snacks should be taken as this increases the likelihood that children may consider a ‘midnight feast’ and would share foods without allergy awareness No aerosol sprays – this causes problems with the fire alarm system which is highly sensitive and may affect children with asthma Bedding is provided ! So no need for sleeping bags etc.   All belongings need to be in one holdall or suitcase with all items named. Use a biro or sharpie if needed!

In emergency… Pocket Money… The centre’s phone number is 01706814554. This can only be called in an emergency. Pocket Money… There is a small shop selling souvenirs such as mugs, erasers, pens, pencils. Children may bring a maximum of £6 each in a sealed envelope with their name clearly marked.

We aim to return home by 3:30pm on Friday 28th April Children must enter school to be dismissed, not directly from the coach. We will contact you via ParentMail if there are any significant delays Any Questions?
