understand how different situations impact sustainability. Learning target I can list and describe the three parts of the sustainability triangle. Today I am… looking at the SD/TJ water case to apply the sustainability triangle to this situation. So that I’ll be able to… understand how different situations impact sustainability. I’ll know I’ve got it when… I can complete all questions and list and describe the three parts of the sustainability triangle.

Essential question in Environmental Science How can we best balance our own interests and needs with the health of the environment? This is sustainability!

Why consider sustainability? World decision makers face traditional issues (such as economic inactivity, poverty, hunger, and illness), as well as new challenges (like environmental damage and globalization).

Sustainability Foldable Pg. 11 LS A lake in your neighborhood has been closed due to pollution. This lake is well known by the fisherman because of the large bass that have been caught in this lake. Every month there is a fishing competition at this lake, but because of the pollution the competition has been cancelled. Fisherman pay good money to be able to fish on this lake. Name the Lake and put it on the front of your foldable Create a sustainability triangle foldable about this lake. Must have color. Example on the next two slides
