UNDERSTANDING THE SPIN SERIES Basic questions the offensive staff has to ask when implementing the spin concepts into the offensive: Why are we implementing a spin series as a part of our offense. You should be asking yourself this question today. There are various reasons-Our reason was –Deception to slow down linebacker flow. 2. What are you looking for in a spin back ? a. Will you use your tailback or your fullback as the spinner back?

UNDERSTANDING THE SPIN SERIES b. Will our spin back be our primary passer? c. Must be careful not to switch players & create tendencies- Example- 1 player at spin back to pass and another to run. 3. What % of our offense will be spin plays? How many different series? How much practice time will this consume? What are the abilities of our spin backs?

Types of spin series to implement- a. fullback full spin- (fb to wb- fb to tb) b. fullback ¼ spin- (fb to wb- fb to tb) c. tailback ¼ spin d. double spin (Tulsa series) e. Fly series f.
