EXCITING OF ELECTRONS

Ground State - the state of electrons when they are occupying the lowest energy levels possible (being as lazy as possible)

Excited State - When electrons are given extra energy (like heat), they can occupy higher energy levels temporarily.

Exciting the Electrons If we get electrons to leave the ground state and jump up energy levels, they will only stay there for a small amount of time.

As they “fall” back to their ground states, they release the extra energy in the form of light That is why we see color in fireworks shows

Now let’s excite some electrons!!
