SACSCOC Communications Email Inquiry and Formal Letter Addresses St. Philip’s College accreditation Refers specifically to: Changes to General Education Program Faculty Approval of Curriculum Faculty Responsibility for Curriculum Substantive Change Institutional Autonomy Context: EDUC/PSYC 1300 Learning Frameworks Course NOTE: ALL Alamo Colleges received this letter except NLC

SACSCOC Principles Requirement Standard Must be met or will not be reaffirmed Standard Must be met or may be placed on monitoring

EDUC/PSYC 1300 Learning Frameworks Core Requirement 2.7.3: General Education Provide evidence of: Breadth of knowledge Coherent rational If replacing the required Humanities and required Social Sciences course, it must meet the requirements for those areas (cannot be a study skills course)

EDUC/PSYC 1300 Learning Frameworks Comprehensive Standard 3.4.1: Academic Program Approval Provide evidence of: Faculty approval of the changes to the general education program Institutional policies were followed

EDUC/PSYC 1300 Learning Frameworks Comprehensive Standard 3.4.10: Responsibility for Curriculum Address the means by which the: Institution places primary responsibility for curricular content and quality with its faculty

EDUC/PSYC 1300 Learning Frameworks Comprehensive Standard 3.12.1: Substantive Change Provide evidence that: SACSCOC approval to change the general education program was granted OR Provide justification that: Changes to the general education program should not be considered a significant departure from the current general education program

Institutional Autonomy Provide examples of institutional autonomy related to the review and implementation of these curricular changes.
