Why Is Grass Green? By: Shea Duffy 11-17-11 Page One

. We all know grass, the itchy green stuff in our front and back yards. But why is it green? Read my power point to find out! Page Two

Why Is It Green? Grass is green because it contains a color called chlorophyll. The chlorophyll is used in the process of photosynthesis where the grass (or other plant) produces sugar in the presence of the sun. Page Three

Page Four On the left, we see our basic everyday grass. But if that grass stays not watered for too long, (4-5 days) it will turn brown and die.
