Sarcoma Wound Complications

76 Cases with STS requiring flap surgery Between 2012-2016

Initial Presentation 12 patients presented with Recurrent Disease (15.7%) 64 patients presented with New Disease (84.3%)

Gross Pathology 21 Patient  Superficial Sarcoma (27%) 2 Patients  Breast (0.2%) 52 Patients  Deep Sarcoma (69%) All cases between G2 - 3

Treatment Treatment Algorithm (Pre-op Radio + Single Stage Excision and Flap Reconstruction % of Tumor Necrosis 50-90%

Wound Complications Major Complications: 10 Patients (13%) Minor Complications: 7 Patients (9%) Flap Failure: 3 Patients (3.9%)

Recurrence Local Recurrence: 6 Patients (7.8%) Regional Recurrence: 5 Patients (6.5%) Distant Recurrence: 6 Patients (7.8%) Follow-up period
