Substituting Terminology Some academic organizations are not comfortable with the use of business terminology. The term used isn’t important but the definition is. They can substitute: Customer for User Stakeholder for Partner Competitor (no change) and Supplier for Affiliates

#3- Define Inputs: Stakeholders? Stakeholders: someone or an organization who can help the planning effort succeed or fail – who has information you need, or resources for problem solving Examples: Faculty/Staff/Administration Businesses State Government
#3- Define Inputs: Competitors? Competitors: An organization that is striving to outdo your organization by seeking the same resources Examples: Other Universities ISU Units
