Dedicated internet use tax to transportation HB-480 Required collection of internet use tax from vendors doing over $250,000 Dedicated internet use tax to transportation 50% to MDOT and 50% to local

Provided for voluntary collection of internet use tax SB-2939 Provided for voluntary collection of internet use tax First $50MM would go to the general fund 50% of growth over 2% would be focused on Transportation

Provided for $50MM in bonds for county and city bridges SB-2281 Provided for $50MM in bonds for county and city bridges

Conference Weekend Senate and House conferees signed the conference reports on MDOT and State Aid appropriations Senate & House could not agree on Transportation Funding and the bond bill. House recommitted MDOT and State Aid appropriations conference reports

Path Forward House committee is meeting today to develop a plan to negotiate with the Senate. Once the House and Senate have agreed on a plan we will notify the governor to call a special session. Fiscal year ends July 1 but MDOT is contractually obligated to inform contractors of the possibility of defaulting on those contracts within 45 days which makes the desired date prior to May 15th.
