Presentation transcript:

Do Now: Get out notebook, homework, and pencil What is the correct order of ecosystem organization? Give me one limiting factor and explain what happens to population size because of it.

Write the notes on page Predator-Prey relationship Predator- the organism that kills another organisms for food Prey- the organism that is eaten by the predator Wolves(predator), deer(prey)

As a prey population increases there is more food for the predators. The increase in food allows the predator population to rise. Eventually there will not be enough prey to support the predators The predator population will begin to decrease because of lack of food. This will allow the prey population to being increasing again and the process begins over

Predator Prey with Notecards FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE ACTIVITY SHEET THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY QUESTIONS IF THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOLLOWED

Article Activity on page Choose one Predator Prey interaction Create 2 scenarios that would result in: An INCREASE in population of prey A DECREASE in population of prey Draw a general sketch of what a graph showing predator and prey populations would look like if those 2 scenarios alternated every year
