M1 Abrams main battle tank The M-1 Abrams tank is the united states main battle tank. It was produced by general dynamics in Lima, Ohio. The first tank was introduced in 1980 to the united states military. Each tank cost about $6 million dollars to make. It is recognized as the most advanced and powerful tank in the world. The m-1 Abrams tank is the united states main battle tank. It was produced by general dynamics in lima, Ohio. The first tank was introduced in 1980 to the united states military. Each tank cost about $6 million dollars to make. It is recognized as the most advanced and powerful tank in the world.

Main weapon is a 120mm Smooth Bore Cannon A crew of four soldiers Weighs 70 tons Main weapon is a 120mm Smooth Bore Cannon The Abrams tank has a four man crew. Which includes the driver (who drives the tank), the loader ( he is the one who loads the main gun), the gunner (he shoots the main gun and controls the turret), and the tank commander (he is in charge of the tank and crew). The tank weighs 70 tons which equals to 10 elephants together. The main weapon is a 120 millimeter smooth bore cannon. It can fire and destroy a target up to 3,280 yards which is almost 2 miles away.

These are the main gun rounds used by the Abrams tank Each round weights 46 lbs. A tank can hold 42 rounds These are the main gun rounds used by the Abrams tank. The one on the left is called the Sabo round which is used against to destroy other tanks. The bullet on the right is called a Heat round which is used against lighter vehicles like trucks and cars. Each bullet weighs 46 pounds and are 38 inches tall. The Abrams tank can hold up to 42 rounds.

1500 HP Turbine Engine It can go 45 mph Holds 505 gallons of fuel This is a picture of the engine used in the Abrams tank. It is a 1500 horse power turbine engine. It’s the same engine used on helicopters and jets. This is the only turbine engine used on tanks in the world. The tank can go up to 45 miles per hour. The tank holds 505 gallons of fuel which is as much as 25 cars put together.
