Examples of symbolism Symbolism is literary device that contains several layers of meaning, often concealed at first sight, and is represented of several other aspects, concepts of traits than those that are visible in the literal translation alone. Examples: An apple is for a teacher, a rose is meant for love, wings are meant for angels, hoops are meant for basketballs, summer is meant for fun, and sports are meant for exercise.
