Family Toolkit for the 2015 ISTEP+

Help families understand what it means to be college and career ready and why it matters. Introduce families to the new ISTEP+ College and Career Readiness Assessment. Help families understand how to help their children prepare for the new ISTEP+ College and Career Readiness Assessment at home. Provide families with tools and resources to help their children at home. Goals and Objectives

What does it mean to be College Ready? College readiness means that graduates have the skills they need to do well in college. College doesn’t just mean a four-year degree. It can mean any program that leads to a degree or certificate. Being ready means that students graduate from high school with key skills in English and mathematics. What does it mean to be College Ready?

What does it mean to be Career Ready? Career readiness means that high school graduates are qualified for and able to do well in long-term careers Career doesn’t just mean a job. It means a profession that lets graduates succeed at a job they enjoy and earn a competitive wage. What does it mean to be Career Ready?

What does the new test look like?

Highlighter - allows students to single out important facts Technology Tools
