Presentation transcript:

Visual Features of a Static Image Renee Bushby

Layout Dominant Image takes up the majority of the space

Use of Space Rule of thirds Deliberate blank space

Proportion The large size of one character shows that she will be the lead character in the film.

Lines The lines in a static image direct the viewers eye.

Frame

Lettering/Font

Hyperbole An exaggeration which is shown visually.

Symbolism Skull and cross bones symbolise death. The crutches symbolise injuries. A switched on lightbulb symbolises an idea

Colour The colour pink reinforces the idea that this film is targeting females. Pink is a colour that represents fun. Exaggerated colours lead you to think the movie could be a fantasy film

Lighting How has the subject been lit? This subject hasn’t been lit which leaves the audience guessing who the character is. The effect is to create mystery and intrigue.

Contrast Contrasting images - Placing the bird right next to the female image creates a impact. It is unsettling that they both have the same eyes.

Contrast in colours
