Saskatchewan Geography

Saskatchewan: Made up of 3 natural geographical regions: 1. Arctic Tundra 2. Canadian or Boreal Shield 3. Central Plains

Within these regions, Saskatchewan is divided into 4 ecozones: 1. The Taiga 2. The Boreal Shield 3. The Boreal Plains 4. The Prairies

Ecozone: an area that consists of biotic (living) and non-biotic (non-living) factors that make it unique Ecozones have a large impact on the type of resources available in each area More than ½ of the agricultural land in Canada is located in Southern SK.
