Preparation for 2016 reporting No fundamental changes. Rephrased questions in the reporting template for better guidance [DOC2]. Forward-looking aspect is covered by the EC/MS bilateral meetings and the resulting action plan. Taking into account the specific situation of every MS Better implementation guidance and specific actions

Monitoring & reporting 2019 Adapt the INSPIRE Directive to “better regulation principles”, e.g. through streamlining the monitoring and reporting Possible review of INSPIRE Monitoring and Reporting Commission Decision 2009/442/EC Templates and guidance Showcase for the Fitness Check Environmental Monitoring & Reporting Make sure INSPIRE is “Fit for Purpose”

Monitoring & Reporting 2019 Outlook Initiate a new MIG Work Package on Monitoring & Reporting 2019 Investigate options (legal & technical), define roadmap, pilot-test-implement solutions Key Concepts Digital by Default! Stimulate and maximize automated digital monitoring and reporting. Proportionality! Only ask what is needed. Define Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to prioritize reporting content. Reuse! Build on the results of MIWP16 (Monitoring). Once Only! Automated M&R based on metadata. KPI should be documented in INSPIRE metadata.

M&R 2019 – Proposed next steps Next MIG-P (July 2016) ToR for new MIG work package adopted Participating MS End of 2016 Report with suggestions on streamlining of monitoring and reporting and their impact (eg. do we need to change Commission Decision 2009/442/EC or not, if yes, how?) Detailed implementation roadmap 2017 Adoption of the new monitoring and reporting process by the Member States Pilot-Test-Implement (technical and legal) the new process
