2D Motion – an algebraic approach

Get yer brains ready!

Adding vectors From yesterday we know that adding vectors that are perpendicular is relatively straightforward. Adding non-perpendicular vectors algebraically involves breaking them down into perpendicular parts.

This is NOT a scale diagram This is NOT a scale diagram! We have only shown the magnitudes in the diagram.

We can add displacement vectors by components! DO THIS WHEN: One vector has a direction DUE north, south, east, or west
