RAA Prerequisite SPS Credit Requirement Why doesn’t ORS offer a 4 hour workshop like ORA? Participants already have years of SPS experience and want an RAA credit. Participation is limited to only two or three registrants. Low turnover rate in RA positions on campus. Cancelled more workshops than we held. New hires need to use SPS today, not 3 months from now.

RAA Prerequisite SPS Credit Requirement Then how do new hires meet the prerequisite requirement? In collaboration with RCC, ORS will implement an at the elbow approach. NIH Response Update Identified areas for research administration and infrastructure improvements to strengthen Duke’s research enterprise. Enhance proposal development. Enhance proposal review and submission. Enhance financial oversight of grants and contracts. Enhance research integrity. Improvements will affect all research at Duke. Campus wide changes. Improve the overall research environment.

NIH Response Update Additional initiatives include: Requiring Responsible Conduct in Research (RCR) training for all individuals engaged in research. Undergraduate Students, Graduate Students and Postdoc training in place. Campus Faculty? Developing scientific accountability and research data management plans for all scientific research programs. Science Culture and Accountability Plans (SCAPs). Changes to the pre-award submission review process and deadlines. More intensive reviews? 5-day PCA?
