MASS

Definitions Mass: an indication of the amount of matter in a substance, calculated in kilograms(kg), grams(g) or milligrams(mg) Matter: a substance that occupies space and has a mass, all physical objects are made of matter, the smallest unit of matter is an atom

Definitions- continued Balance: an instrument that measures the mass of an object in grams, also known as a scale Weight: the vertical force exerted by a mass due to gravity measured in Newtons (N) measure of how heavy an object is measured in pounds (lb) Not mass!!!
