TDIS simulations plan

Actions agreed on TDIS simulations: Coating (2 µm Cu) vs no coating on graphite blocks. Choice to be done at a later stage. NB Tapering at jaws upstream/downstream ends. GM BS Addition of RF fingers in-between the blocks. EB (beam dynamics DA) Gap b/w jaws. 15mm min. from design point of view (according to latest input from Luca). (2x graphite) blocks/jaw vs (3x 3D carbon + 1x graphite NB) blocks/jaw. Gaps between blocks: 0.1mm. SA Loss of one row of jaw side fingers. NB To measure electrical conductivity of 3D carbon. Inigo to provide sample block. NB + all GM Impact on beam stability in HL-LHC. NB DA CST models on: www.cern.ch/wake Past studies: refer on www.cern.ch/imp webpage with E.Bonanno’s talks.
