Opinion statement background information The walking dead is a tv show that is on amc’s network. The show is currently on its seventh season. It is a show that explores a post apocalyptic world that has been taken over by zombies. The show is focused around a group of survivors who follow the lead of rick grimes (Andrew Lincoln). The show is filmed in Georgia and it has been on for roughly 7 years.

Opinion statement I started watching the walking dead around the time that season two came out. I actually watched season two first and then I went back and started from season one. Ever since then, I have been hooked. I cannot miss an episode! The walking dead is the number one show on tv because it not only deals with zombies, but it deals with reality. The show also still has its gory moment’s too! Plus, the show will always have you on the edge of your seat. No other tv show will ever compare to amc’s the walking dead!

Reason #1: The walking dead deals with reality Despite the fact that the walking dead is a show about zombies, the writers also focus on reality. The plot is not just about zombies. You get a lot of character drama and you are always exposed to character emotion. The characters make the apocalypse seem real because they still handle things like regular people. No one has super powers and no one is immune to the fact of having feelings.

Reason #2: The show still has its gory moments Even though the show focuses more on the lives of the characters, there are still plenty of moments where there is a lot of blood shed. The blood either comes from people killing a walker, a walker killing a person, or a person killing another person.

Reason #3: You are always on the edge of your seat The walking dead never ceases to amaze me. You will never be able to tell which character is going to be killed until you actually see it. The walking dead will have you tempted to read the spoiler websites to get some hints as to who is going to die next.

Counterargument Some people may believe that the walking dead is not the best show because “it has been on tv too long” , but if that was the case, the show would not have been rated the number 1 television show in 2016. some would also argue that the plot Is too drawn out because it is on its seventh season, but that is also not true because the walking dead Is a comic book that still has issues coming out to this day. Plus the 18 million plus viewers would beg to differ. People may also believe that the show is too emotionally scaring, but that is what ratings are for and the sh0w is only for people who can handle the horror.

conclusion In summary, amc’s the walking dead is the best show in America. Yes, it was actually rated as the best show, but I personally believe that there are three important reasons why. First, the show focuses on more than just the zombies. The audience can relate to the feelings. The show also still has its gory moments for all of the horror fans and, it will always keep you on your toes.
