元朝 Yuan Dynasty

元朝地图 A Map of Yuan Dynasty

元朝 Yuan and Qing were 2 dynasties that Han people were ruled by minorities. Yuan emperors were Mongolians. 元朝(1271年—1368年) lasted for less than 100 years and a lot of scholars think the reason is it didn’t “Hanized” enough. Qing learned the lesson from Yuan, Hanized thoroughly and lasted for 300 years. The area of Yuan was the largest in the whole Chinese history, even part of Europe belonged to China.

Marco Polo Marco Polo (c. 1254 – January 8, 1324) visited China during Yuan Dynasty and wrote The Travels of Marco Polo, also known as Il Milione.
