Adverbs Adverbs add to verbs (get it?!) They tell us how, where, when, or to what extent the action of the verb is being performed

Adverbs Modify… Often end in –ly, but not always Verbs Adjectives Lovely, motherly, friendly – NOT adverbs!

Fun Facts - Adverbs The words very and too are the most common adverbs The words never and not are usually adverbs.

Good/Well Good = adjective Modifies nouns Can be used with state of being verbs (am, are, is) Well = adverb Modifies verbs Can be used as an adjective to mean “in good health”
