Volume 26, Issue 1, Pages 142-156 (July 2017) Specific and Complex Reprogramming of Cellular Metabolism in Myeloid Cells during Innate Immune Responses  Rinke Stienstra, Romana T. Netea-Maier, Niels P. Riksen, Leo A.B. Joosten, Mihai G. Netea  Cell Metabolism  Volume 26, Issue 1, Pages 142-156 (July 2017) DOI: 10.1016/j.cmet.2017.06.001 Copyright © 2017 Elsevier Inc. Figure 1 Metabolic Rewiring Observed in Myeloid Cells after Activation of TLR4 and TLR2 and during Induction of Trained Immunity After LPS stimulation, glycolysis is activated whereas oxidative phosphorylation is reduced, accommodating functional changes of the myeloid cells to mount an effective response. Activation of TLR2 promotes both glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation, leading to differences in functional output of the myeloid cells. Epigenetic changes modulate gene transcription activation of trained immunity programs. Cell Metabolism 2017 26, 142-156DOI: (10.1016/j.cmet.2017.06.001) Copyright © 2017 Elsevier Inc.
