Part II: Agenda Current Action/Adjustments Future Directions Questions/Comments

Short Term Actions Met with all head coaches Meetings with selected teams Met with health education personnel to focus attention on directed topics and teams Requiring all male official recruits to meet with academic counselor. Require each coach to contact high school counselor regarding all recruits

Short Term Actions (more) Require coaches to allow “walk-ons” only after careful evaluation Developing clear written standards of behavior for each team Each student-athlete will sign a contract expressing support for standards and indicating intended compliance

Tailoring for Selected Teams Use a more directive (boundary setting) approach in programs with teams that have demonstrated risk Constant review of policy and law Add Ethics component to the rotation Addition of Civility/Citizenship Life Skills Regular one on one contact with individual athletes who have demonstrated propensity for problems (formal and informal contact)
