Student Signature ________________________________ Date ___________ Academic Integrity: Academic integrity is based upon the principles of honesty and responsibility that govern Crossroads Arts & Science School's practices as scholars. Students in Honors English I will follow the rules and adhere to the policy of Academic Integrity by submitting original work and giving credit to other people's ideas when appropriate. Academic Misconduct will have consequences aligned with the district policy. Citing Sources: Students will avoid plagiarism and its consequences by avoiding "student online help" sites and when appropriate, citing sources used in creating original work. Classwork Policy: Students are expected to be on-task and working on English I assignments while in class. Students using the internet inappropriately or working on assignments from other classes during English I class time will have these consequences. Cell Phones: school policy dictates that cell phones need to be on silent and completely out of sight (in a bookbag or satchel). School policy for cell phone infraction is noted here. Homework Policy: Because this is an advanced/accelerated course, homework needs to be turned in on time to avoid getting behind. Missed homework may be turned in one day late for 90% of the grade, after that, it will be a zero. Some quizzes can be retaken until 100% is scored (Canvas quizzes and No Red Ink for example). Absences: after any absence, students need to bring in a note explaining the absence to obtain a note from Mrs. Whitener before coming to class. After an excused absence, students will have three days to make up any missed assignments including tests and projects.  Please take a moment to read through all of the units we will be studying and the course objectives in English I by reading the full Syllabus on my website: https://www.iss.k12.nc.us/Page/67933 I have read through this English I syllabus, and I understand my responsibilities for the course.
