Father Endures Pyongyang Prison

Father was put into Pyongyang Prison on August 11th, 1946

Members of the Inside Belly Church who believed in him were also in that prison before him. They were told that they could be set free if they just signed a paper saying that they were wrong. Father told them to go ahead and sign the papers, which they did, so that they could live.

However Mrs. Hong, who was suppose to meet the Messiah in prison, was sent the note from Father hidden in a rice bowl. The note said “Tell them you are wrong. Pray to find out who wrote this.” She did not obey or pray, so she was killed along with the other church members.

The prison guards found the note inside the rice bowl, so they interrogated Father. Since he did not answer their questions, they started torturing him.

The guards thought that if they beat Father enough he would give up on his God. However, they were wrong. He continued to pray and ask God to forgive the guards because they did not know what they were doing.

The guards refused to let him eat or sleep for a whole week, but he still survived. They became scared of him and started beating him brutally.

They beat him almost to the point where he lost too much blood and fainted. They thought he was dead so they threw him out in the snow.

One of Father’s disciples went to visit Father and saw him lying on the ground. He got some of the other members and carried Father back to his house.

They were about to prepare his funeral, but he miraculously started moving. They were overjoyed and started nursing him back to health. He then continued his mission from God.

Questions Why was Father put in prison? Father did not think of himself for even a moment while he was in prison. How do you think that helped him? Why did Father continue his mission even after everything he went through?
