Peer Scoring

Reverse Outlining Overview In the left-hand margin, write down the topic of each paragraph. Try to use as few words as possible. When revising your own work, these notes should tell you if each paragraph is focused and clear. In the right-hand margin, write down how the paragraph topic advances the overall argument of the text. Again, be brief. When revising your own work, these notes should tell you if each paragraph fits in the overall organization of your paper. You may also notice that paragraphs should be shifted after completing this step. Reverse Outlining Overview

Peer Review for REVISIONS Exchange essays with a partner. Follow the directions on the Peer Review handout, paying close attention to focus, idea development, and structure revisions that your partner needs to make. When you are finished reviewing your partner’s essay, you will peer-conference with each other, explaining what you see as your partner’s strengths and weaknesses. Peer Review for REVISIONS

Complete the self-reflection after your peer-conference is complete. Based on your partner’s feedback, revise your essay for focus, idea development, and structure. At the end of class, Turn In: Your essay, the peer-reviewer’s feedback on YOUR essay, and any revision/additional pages ALL stapled together in a packet. Revision
