Group Project: Diagnostic/Consulting Project This is essentially a mini-consulting project. You are asked to: Identify an organizational behavior (OB) problem (an OB problem is one that has something to do with how people think, feel, act in organizations. Traditional topics are things like motivation, leadership, personality, decision making, etc—see your syllabus). Explain why you think the problem is an important one to consider. Tell me how you hope to investigate the problem—what method(s) will you use (e.g.,, participant observation, interviews, a mini-survey, etc.) After investigating the problem, tell me what you learned and how it helps you address the original problem.

Template for paper Clearly describe the problem and explain why you think it is an OB problem. (2-4 pages) Explain why you think the problem is an important one. (1 page) Describe methods (observation? interviews? short survey?) (5 pages) What did you learn and what will you do about what you learned? (5 pages)

Group Project: Review Paper This is essentially a critical review of the literature that addresses a research question: Identify a research question Tell me why the research question is important to consider (it’ll help if the question is no in pursuit of the obvious, and if you find the question interesting). Use a review of the literature as the primary investigate method. Having reviewed the literature on the topic, tell me what you learned, and how it addresses the question you are in pursuit of.

Template for Paper/Project Why is the question interesting? Are the answers obvious/non-obvious? Do they have import for important organizational or societal phenomenon? (approx. 3 pages) How do you propose to investigate the question? What sources will you examine? What will be your search strategy? (approx. 2 pages) Find a way to organize your findings: Consider using tables and figures. (1-2 pages) What conclusions does your investigation allow you to draw? What are the implications of your investigation? (3-5 pages)
