NLN Direction Of first importance - lead well OURSELVES

Sharpen the Saw to Finish Well And Maximize Your Life Greg Stoughton Greg.Stoughton@cru.org gregstoughton1

Finish If you’re a leader? You know it’s important to finish. Daily: Can we produce in a quality way? Life question: Will we finish well?

Finish A boss of mine told me: “Almost anyone can get something to 80% complete. It’s the final 20% that often takes 80% of your time and effort. Learn to finish well, and you’ll set yourself apart from the pack.”

Failure to Finish Can show itself in our: Work Relationships Health Finances Burnout … Need to recognize it - limit it.

Finishers … Learn to sharpen the saw … They value personal renewal; They get the need to preserve and enhance life’s greatest asset – themselves.

Sharpening the Saw … Perspective that acknowledges our human limitations and recognizes a need to be balanced in how we work and live. The Goose and the Golden Egg

Sharpening the Saw “… the balance between the golden egg (production) and the health and welfare of the goose (production capability) is often a difficult judgment call. But … it is the essence of effectiveness.” -- Stephen Covey
