United for Smart Sustainable Cities (U4SSC) Team U4SSC Co-Chairmen H.E. Ms Daiva Matoniene (Lithuania) and Nasser Al Marzouqi (United Arab Emirates) WG1 - Setting the Framework Co-Chairmen Maria Lluïsa Marsal (Future Catapult) and Tomás Llorente (SETSI, Spain) WG2 - Connecting Cities and Communities Co-Chairmen John Smiciklas (BOMA) and Hazem Galal (PwC) WG3 - Enhancing Innovation and Participation Co-Chairmen Kari Eik (OiR) and Okan Geray (Smart Dubai)

Responsibilities of each WG Each working will be tasked with the following activities: To develop a work plan To develop a set of deliverables that may include drafting policy papers and issues papers on topics related to the working groups of the U4SSC To promote its activities through events and campaigns To support the development of smart city guidelines by U4SSC.

Responsibilities of the WGs participants To select the WG(s) they wish to join and inform their partners accordingly To follow closely any global discussions on smart cities which may be relevant to the U4SSC To recognize using universal design from the beginning as recognized by UNCRPD and to work with other ITU-T study groups specializing in accessibility and human factors. To bring their expertise on diverse subjects within the smart and sustainable urban development field to the discussions of their respective WG(s) To promote the implementation of SDGs, in particular SDG11, through U4SSC To encourage smart city transitions through events, conferences and trainings To ensure that there is no overlap with existing initiatives within the United Nations on smart cities or sustainable cities and other related urban development topic To keep an eye on bottom up initiatives that are ICT enabled and not linked to government initiatives To collect relevant case studies and good practices on smart sustainable city related topics.
