Stations 1 – Food Coloring No energy used Passive transport Diffusion

Station 2 – Raisins and Grapes No energy used Passive transport Osmosis – water into or out of the cell

Station 3 – Potatoes No energy used Passive transport Osmosis – water passing across the cell membrane Salt water causes loss and potato becomes bendable Tap water causes gain and potato become very sturdy

Station 4 – Mesh Bean Bag Active transport Energy used Shake the beans out Exocytosis – beans leaving the bag (exit)

Station 5 - Balloons No energy used Passive transport Diffusion – air leak carrying vanilla scent outside of the balloon

Station 6 - Flowers No energy used Passive transport Osmosis – water being absorbed by plant cells across the cell membrane and into the cell carrying the food coloring
