The VSiPMT: A new Generation of Photons Detectors Presented by Riccardo de Asmundis On behalf of Napoli’s VSiPMT group. The prototype Under our requests and a series of negotiations for the specifications, HAMAMATSU built us a couple of prototypes. AIM Si-PMs present several excellent characteristics, like low bias voltage, high gain, photon counting capabilities, insensitivity to magnetic field, etc. Nevertheless they have a limited sensitive surface.  Need to increase the sensitive surface 23/05/2015 Riccardo de Asmundis, INFN Napoli

Results of tests on the prototypes Photon Counting Caability Photocathode Surface increase factor ≈ 7 MEASUREMENT CONDITIONS: VSiPMT illuminated by a pulsed laser light at low intensity (407nm) Oscilloscope triggered in synch with the laser Responses for multiple triggers are overlaid 23/05/2015 Riccardo de Asmundis, INFN Napoli
