Managing mobility for a better future

E P O M M The Objectives of EPOMM To promote Mobility Management as a tool to make mobility environmental friendly, socially just and economical To promote and further develop Mobility Management in Europe To support active information exchange and learning on Mobility Management between European countries To become the prime partner for European Institutions and national governments when seeking advice on Mobility Management

The main tools to achieve this are Information: epomm.eu and a monthly e-update containing the most up-to-date and most in depth information, handbooks and evaluation tools on MM available The National networks for example ACT/Travelwise in the UK, SWEPOMM in Sweden Training and Workshops for information exchange, transfer, implementation, standardisation Networking The yearly European Conference on Mobility Management (ECOMM), taking place every year in a city in an EPOMM member state: 2010 Graz, 2011 Toulouse Project Networking: maintaining contact with all European projects researching or promoting MM, such as CIVITAS, ELTIS, MAX, PRO MOTION etc. EU-relations lobbying on European level

EPOMM Member states Feb 2006

EPOMM Member states Feb 2010 ECOMMs 1997-2010 ENDURANCE

ENDURANCE content EPOMM would be suitable as European Platform for SUMPs, as, exactly as in MM: National level standardisation is lacking almost everywhere Joint Inter-National coordination activities are lacking MM is an important part of SUMPs Part of SUMP-EU-project activities build on MAX-Q, MaxSumo and MaxLupo The EPOMM-PLUS-structure is in fact ideal for SUMP promotion and can serve as model for EPOMM-SUMP Slightly problematic: SUMP is more than MM - but: no other project covers every EU-country and has already the network, dissemination and training structure in place No other poject can promise to continue the work after the end of the project ENDURANCE will integrate all efforts of developing SUM-Plan-Audits, the carrying out of such audits, the training of auditors will build up national SUMP networks in all EU-countries and a European SUM-Plan network Update the BYPAD materials and integrate the BYPAD network

ENDURANCE Partnership The EPOMM member states All other states of the EU plus Norway and Switzerland

Back to Auroville Do you have an UMP? Or a SUM-Plan? Is your plan long term – 20-30 years perspective? Does it cover the functional city – the agglomeration? Is their a high involvement of citizens and stakeholders in the planning? Does it balance social equity, environmental quality and economic development? Does it integrate many policy sectors relevant to mobility? Is there cooperation between the local planning, neigbouring planning and regional planning? Do you have measurable targets and outcomes? Do you focus on walking, cycling and PT – and the qualities of city life? Do you look at all cost aspects of mobility?
