Manuhangi Atoll

. Unique in the whole of French Polynesia, Manuhangi atoll is oval shaped with a coral reef completely enclosing a gorgeous lagoon.

The uninhabited atoll has a circumference of about 11 kms fringed with a reef of around 60 metres width with a surface area of more than 150 hectares plus the surface of the lagoon and reef.

The atoll is planted with coconut trees as well as other species of tropical trees and features a large variety of sea birds and numerous coconut crabs.

The surrounding waters both within the lagoon and the surrounding seas are perfectly picturesque and boast a wealth of preserved marine species.

Buildings The atoll has three small houses, cisterns, a shed and a chapel, ample water supply from natural wells and will need to have electricity and gas. There are no constraints on construction and a landing strip could be constructed out onto the emerging reef. It also offers the possibility to create a pearl farm or an aquaculture farm.

Manuhangi Atoll Manuhangi is not just a piece of rock but a full complete island written on the map of the South Pacific rim which you can fully own. It is protected land which the old Poumotu (Tuamotu inhabitants) used to call "Manu Hagi", which means the "Loving Bird" and is a paradise for all sorts of birds which has been practically uninhabited for years and years.

Location The Manuhangi Atoll is located 850 km to the East-South-East of Tahiti, in the Tuamotu archipelago 68 km southeast of Nengonengo and 52 km west of Paraoa, close to the island of Hao. Situated approximately 100 km away from Hao, four hours by boat, where there is a post office and other public service. Hao will soon be given "duty free port" status by the French Polynesia Government and will become the centre of development in the South Pacific making Manuhangi a first rate investment to start a new business as a black pearl farm, tourism, phosphate mining or a secluded, private hideaway.
