Is high school different from middle school? YES! Tracy High School Graduation Requirements How do I earn credits to graduate? The A-G College Entrance Requirements

High School Diploma Requirements English( 4 years) 40 credits Social Studies ( 3 years) 30 credits World History(10th grade) US History (11th grade) American Government/Economics (12th grade) Science (3 years) 30 credits Biology (9th grade) Physical Science (10th grade) Choice of Science ( 11th grade) Math ( 2 years) 20 credits Algebra 1 (10 credits) Other Math course ( 10 credits) Fine Arts OR Language Other Than English 10 credits Physical Education 20 credits 2 years - 9th grade and one additional year) Electives 70 credits TOTAL CREDITS TO GRADUATE = 220 credits

How do I earn credits in high school? Students earn credits each semester (2 semesters in a school year) Each semester is worth 30 credits /5 credits for each class X 6 classes(same 6 classes all year; August-May) 60 credits for each school year 1st Qtr. 2nd Qtr. Final Exams Fall Semester Grades/ Credits posted on transcript 3rd Qtr. 4th Qtr. Spring Semester

( UC, CSU and most 4- year Universities) College Entrance Requirements ( UC, CSU and most 4- year Universities) A-G Requirements must be completed with a grade of C or better to meet minimum requirements !

How do I complete my Course Selection sheet How do I complete my Course Selection sheet? (Use the Purple Sheet 9th Grade Elective Sheet to select courses) ALL 9th graders take 4 core classes: English, Math, Biology and PE ALL Math courses require 8th grade teacher signature Advanced courses in English and Biology require 8th grader teacher signature Spanish 1 and French 1 require 8th grade teacher signature If you plan to play a high school sport and would like to request 6th period PE, select Competitive Athletics CORE 9 as your PE course. There is no guarantee that you will receive the course but you need to select it in order to be considered. Choose 2 electives from the 9th grade Elective List (PUPLE PAPER). Choose 3 more electives from the 9th grade elective list as your 3 alternate electives (PURPLE PAPER).
