How to apply Selection to and working in specialising physician positions requires that the applicant in suited to work in the specialty The selection process takes place within the health service system Should be: application selection planning

Specialist training The specialising physicians are responsible for finding a post for training by themselves Should be Structured Logical Starting from primary health care, Then to surgery of gyn&Ob outside of university hospital, with basic training University Training 2-3 yrs

Including ”First line manager training” (30 ECTSs), training for practical leadership and management Should also include Research Scientific writing

Theoretical training Now: 80 hours of theoretical courses National specialist exam (6 hours) Should be: Structured courses (now partly organized by the Finnish Gyn Society) Yearly exams, arranged by the University responsible for the trainee
