Between Cardigan Welsh Corgis and Ticks Parasitism Between Cardigan Welsh Corgis and Ticks

Cardigan Welsh Corgi Facts Cardigan Welsh Corgis come from the same heritage as the Tekdal dogs, such as the Dachshund. The Cardigan Welsh Corgis’ average lifespan is 12-15 years.

Tick Facts Ticks are more closely related to spiders and scorpions than insects. There are two main types of ticks: soft and hard. Ticks get onto pets and people by jumping.

Their Relationship Cardigan Welsh Corgis occasionally come into contact with ticks, which are small organisms that live on the outside of the dog’s skin. Once on the Corgi’s skin it proceeds to suck its blood. When this happens, the tick is responsible for causing a variety of diseases in the dog, including Anemia, Lyme disease, and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.
