Learning Objectives To recognise the capability of goal seek in Excel To relate goal seek to “real life” situations

Lesson Outcomes To first use trial and error to calculate a desired outcome To use goal seek effectively To apply goal seek to “real life” situations

You Task…. Create a spreadsheet for an aspect of your everyday life e.g. pocket money or hours spent on homework Set yourself a desired outcome, e.g. money saved per week, maximum number of hours spent on homework Use goal seek to easily calculate what needs to be done to reach the desired outcome Do the same again for 2 other things for you to achieve e.g. saving money for Christmas next year, getting 300 achievements in school
