This is my 17th Year in teaching. I have been happily married to a wonderful man for nine years. Together we have 3 children. Family is very important to me, so know that I will always respect your time. I love teaching and consider it a great privilege to be with your child each day!

READING &WRITING Tomball ISD has embraced the Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop Model.  Some of the key elements of this model are: Giving each reader and writer a choice in what they want to read and write about. The time needed to really engage our readers and writers.   - The flexibility to see each student individually. The flexibility to assess where they are currently performing and where we want them to go. - Allowing each student to be a successful reader and writer.

MATH Math today is not the math you grew up with. We include different ways of learning such as: -Number talks: short warm up activities that help students apply mental math - should be a used as a warm up 2 - 3 times a week -Addition and Subtraction Strategies (make 10, counting on, doubles, doubles +1, near doubles) -Problem Solving Strategies: number lines, part/part/whole, mental math -Memorization of Math Facts is extremely important. We will be doing activities that promote fluency with addition & subtraction facts

PARENT COMMUNICATION Wednesday Folders will come home each week with a conduct card.  Student conduct marks will be recorded each week on this sheet. Conduct marks are as follows: E 0-4 S 5-7 N 8-10   

Please send a note for absences. Late arrivals receive a tardy. TRANSP0RTATION If your student needs to make a change to their normal way home please send a signed note. Spelling: Monday & Thursday Math: Every Wednesday – Content Homework 10 minutes of math facts each night is recommended. Homework is given on Monday and Due on Friday. No weekend homework. on Monday and Due on Friday.                                                                  10 minutes of math facts each night to prepare for timed Fact Test.

SPECIALS Specials Schedule follows a 5 day rotation between P.E., Art, and Music. This being the case it is important that your child has shoes suitable for PE/recess in their backpack everyday. NO FLIP FLOPS - these can be a safety issue.
