FDA-13: Develop a User Metrics Best Practice. (on WGISS) Purpose Support the data-related priorities of the CEOS Chair 2017/2018: Data products that meet user needs Delivery systems that meet modern standards Stimulate processes towards actionable recommendations for CEOS plenary 2018 related to the adoption: of a common vision for a future data architecture (FDA-8) of a priority list of ARD and their features for use in a Big Data context – focus on land applications (FDA-7) Support the process towards delivery against: An inventory of FDA operated by public & private entities (FDA-9) Develop best practice for user metrics (FDA-13) FDA-8: Establish a common description of Future Data Architecture functional blocks and identify interfaces and interoperability approaches (FDA-AHT and WGISS) FDA-7: Product Specifications in accordance with the CARD4L Framework (on LSI-VC and WGCV) FDA-9: Inventory and characterise existing FDAs operated by both public and private entities including the standards and approaches they use (e.g. Data Cubes, Exploitation Platforms, Copernicus DIAS, etc). Objectives Share experience and best practices related to CEOS agency initiatives involving commercial Information & Communication Technology (ICT) providers – SEO feedback How are such these initiatives integrated into the overall service offering of CEOS agencies? Are they effective in serving our user communities and facilitating development of value-added services? What benefit can be drawn in the domain of user uptake? What ARD products and features are needed in this context? How do we maintain and develop links to current and future user communities?

FDA Big Data Workshop A detailed look at ongoing FDA work from FDA co-chairs Presentations by identified CEOS agencies of their Big Data projects from an operational and implementation standpoint A return on experience from the SEO regarding cooperation with AWS Status of related WGISS work – what challenges are identified and what solutions exist or are under development Dedicated working sessions on data quality/features, relationship with user communities and roles of public/private sectors
