Update on SBCC Activities of Challenge TB Bangladesh

BACKGROUND Challenge TB (CTB) is one of the main global mechanisms for implementing USAID’s TB strategy In Bangladesh, this project is being implemented by Management Sciences for Health (MSH), Interactive Research and Development (IRD) and KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation (KNCV) CTB’s goal in Bangladesh is to reduce morbidity, mortality, and transmission until TB is no longer a public health concern CTB is a technical assistance project, providing support to the NTP to strengthen its capacity in terms of planning, implementation, coordination, supervision, monitoring and recording and reporting of the TB program in Bangladesh

Communication Goal To reduce the TB burden by engaging communities and TB patients in improving early health seeking behavior and increase of TB case finding, and by providing patient centered quality TB services to achieve 90 percent successful treatment

Strategic Objectives Promote early health care seeking behavior (and active community engagement) Intensify case finding & early diagnosis at public and private health facilities Enhance DS and DR TB patient’s adherence to treatment Engage patients and communities to reduce TB transmission at community level by supporting TB patients Decrease stigma around TB Strengthen Partners collaboration under NTPs leadership
