XI. Attempted Assassination of Hitler Operation Valkyrie (July 1944) - Some of Hitler’s generals try to assassinate Hitler with a bomb - The assassination fails. - Conspirators are given a chance to commit suicide or be executed - 5,000 arrested, over 200 executed

XII. Battle of the Bulge (Dec. 1944) - Germany’s last effort to reclaim lands in Belgium and France

85,000 Americans die in the Battle of the Bulge

- Germany was successful at first - Eventually German’s pushed back - Germany lost too many troops to risk attack again.

XIII: The Yalta Conference (Feb 1945) -- before the end of the war - Meeting of Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin. (THE BIG 3)
