Faith Hebrews 11:1

Necessary For Salvation Hebrews 11:6 Romans 5:1 Ephesians 2:8

What is Faith? “faith” – firm persuasion, trust, belief, confidence, conviction “substance” – “lit. a standing under, support” (W. E. Vine) “evidence” – “proof, proving of unseen things”

Two Elements of Saving Faith Conviction (We accept what God reveals) Trust (God will reward when we obey)

Accepts Unseen As Seen By accepting testimony Doesn’t make unreasonable True of most historical events Not a “blind leap” Based on credible evidence

The Evidence 2 Corinthians 5:7 Is of Divine Origin Romans 3:3, 4 Know God exists by general revelation Romans 1:20 Know His will by special revelation 1 Corinthians 2:11; Romans 10:17 2 Corinthians 5:7

What Must I Do To Be Saved? Hear the gospel (Romans 10:17) Believe Jesus is Christ (Acts 8:37) Repent of your sins (Acts 17:30) Confess faith in Christ (Matthew 10:32) Baptized for remission of sins (Acts 2:38) Faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)
