Values and Goals What about yours?

What are Values? Values are anything in life that is important to us. Values determine how we live and how we tell the difference between right and wrong.

Types of Values: 1). Tangible: These are the material things in our life—things that cost money to obtain. Examples include: Jewelry, cars, clothes, etc. 2). Intangible: These are the non-material things in our life—they don’t cost any money. Examples include: Love, honesty, kindness, etc.

What are Goals? Goals are plans you make to help you reach something in the future.

Types of Goals: 1). Short-Term Goals: Small goals that can be accomplished quickly, usually within 1-3 days. Examples include: Doing the dishes, finishing an English paper, etc. 2). Long-Term Goals: Large goals that take longer to be accomplished, possibly within months or even years. Examples include: Graduating from High School, getting a job, etc. *Achieving your short-term goals will help you reach your long-term goals.

Values Ranking On the work sheet, 21 common values are listed. Place a check mark in the column that best represents how you value the values. Of the 21 listed, list your top 5- IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE (1 being the most important). Why? Do your actions really demonstrate that?
